At Island Splash Tours, our goal is to provide one of the best snorkeling tours in Waikiki while keeping the experience personal, safe, and unforgettable. Our Turtle Canyon snorkel tour takes guests just offshore from Waikiki to one of the most famous snorkeling locations on Oahu, where Hawaiian green sea turtles gather at reef cleaning stations.
Our brand new 2025 tour boat was designed to hold up to 49 passengers, but we intentionally limit our snorkeling tours to only 28 guests per trip. This smaller group size creates a much more comfortable experience and allows our guides to spend more time helping guests spot sea turtles, tropical reef fish, and other marine life around the reef.
Many larger tour boats in Waikiki bring 40 or more passengers to Turtle Canyon at once. By keeping our groups smaller, our snorkel guides can move more easily through the water and ensure everyone has the chance to see the incredible marine life that makes snorkeling on Oahu so special.
Turtle Canyon is one of the most reliable places in Waikiki to see Hawaiian green sea turtles in the wild. These turtles often visit the reef to allow small fish to clean algae and parasites from their shells. Because turtles frequently return to these cleaning stations, snorkelers often have multiple turtle sightings during a single trip.
In addition to sea turtles, guests frequently see schools of tropical reef fish, eels, octopus, sea urchins, rays, and sometimes even dolphins swimming near the reef.
